Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

As you saw from the other thread i do have swirl marks.

I need you to tell me everything i need to do this job. Im thinking Meguiars NXT Liquid Wax. Im gonna get the NXT Car wash. What should i use for polish or clear coat cleaner? Whats the best materials for each section of this job for applying and removing. When i wax i should always do it in a straight line correct? Should i go back and forth or just streaks of it? Any tips appreciated. Im sure this is going to take a while but ive had the car 3 months and havent done any waxing, polishing or clear coat cleaning so i cant wait to see the results Thanks guys

Re: Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

get a nice cleaner wax..someone told me to do this..and when i did it took off stained spots on my car, and got rid of some swirls too! just be careful not to put more swirls in, since its a mild abrasive..

after the cleaner wax do what mr. luos told me to do..

meguiars polish, + gold class wax. that gold class wax is pretty xp but damn its nice...
but it is harder than normal wax to buff off..i noticed that..

Re: Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

I heard if you use polish and u dont know what your doing or never worked with it you can do more harm than good..is that true? I just want my car to shine and get rid of all the swirls. So basically a clear coat cleaner gets rid of the swirls? Then i need to polish..then wax? IS that correct?

IS this a good cleaner wax- http://www.meguiars.com/?auto-paint-...-Paint-Cleaner

Then polish with - http://www.meguiars.com/?car-polishe...-System-Polish

I already have meguiars gold class car wax so ill use that as well..

Is this all correct? And to appy and remove i should get some applicator pads and microfiber towels?

For car wash should i get gold class or nxt?

Re: Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

by polish i dont mean polishing compound cuz yeah, that can fuck up your paint.. i mean polish, the stuff sort of like wax.. if you look at my old thread on 'wax?' mr. luos posted the things he does to make his car look fuckig sexy!

1)gold carwash
2) step two polish
3) step three gold class wax..

(all meguiars)

ive also heard mothers is good, but im not sure what they do..

and yes, a clear coat cleaner will get rid of the swirls..somewhat, but to get rid of the swirls youre basically scraping the top of your clearcoat off..so be careful with it

Re: Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

with that polish you might not need the cleaner wax! it says it removes fine swirls.. and yeah, thats the right polish.. haha

Re: Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

ok so ill get the car soap and polish today as i already have the wax..to apply i use microfiber application pads? To remove ill use microfiber towels?

And do you use polish the SAME way you use wax? And when u wax do u do straight lines back and fortn or just single wipes all across the car without going back over it. Thanks

Use eagle one nano-wax for the swirls. I used it, and it worked fine.

Is that a seperate wax? or a polisher?

Its just like a spray on pollisher, but it takes away the swirls.

Re: Going to wax my car for the first time tomorrow (HELP NEEDED)

Well dont pollish your car if its not been washed first. i think what your asking is if you need to follow all the "steps" they list on the bottle. You dont NEED to, but it may come out nicer if you do. I would say as long as the car has been washed, then you'll be fine to "polish" it.
