Re: RPM Question

at 70 mph in 5th gear on my 5sp NA, i'm right at 3100 rpms. so at 75mph i would be around 3500rpms.

i'm very curious as to why you asked the question. i can only think of transmission related problems, or speedo-gear problem, something similar. please tell, i wanna know, don't leave me hangin.

keep in mind, Blink has the 5spd manual AWD transmission. so his gearing in 5th is different from the FWD 5spd in 5th, and also different from a ATX (4spd auto, in top gear at 75).

Re: RPM Question

my reason is because i am still looking to buy one in the next month or so and i was woundering if there was much of a differnece between the 6th gear 94 vr-4's mainly, or the 93 or older 5 speed vr-4's, thats mostly what i am looking at but it is also nice to know what some of the sl's and n/a's are running at too...

Re: RPM Question

only notable difference in the AWD 5spd v. AWD 6spd is you might get a little better gas mileage in 6th gear.

that's basically it. ya you can argue all day about other differences and how you think they're noticeable, but i'm not gonna go there. another option to consider, if you plan on making over 500hp, the transfer case on the 6spd are stronger than those on the 5spds.

Re: RPM Question

in 6th at 75mph, i'm right around 2k, if memory serves me right. I do know that 100mph is 3k...that is etched into my memory...75 isn't a speed I use much.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
