Odometer getting dim 01 regal

Hi all on my wifes 2001 regal over the weekend the odometer and gear indicator has gotten real dim and sometimes it will brighten back up. it has been over 100* here for a week and I think it has something to do with it also it looks like the rear view mirrow is delamaniting. does anyone know of any tsb's on this? I work in a city shop and don't get to work on these and don't have access to shop manuals for it.

Re: Odometer getting dim 01 regal

On the Instrument Panel/Cluster about all you can do is remove the dash bezel and then the IP to check for proper connection and voltage from the lighting system. If the rest of the dash illumination and clmate control/radio works, especially when the dimmer is controlled then it looks like you have a flaky cluster. You may be able to get it repaired. If not then a replacement. There is a module that stores the odometer reading in the cluster.

On TSBs for the mirror none that I know of.

Re: Odometer getting dim 01 regal

some people that put sunshades in the front windshield were having issues with baking the mirror. Stopped puting sunshade in and no more problems with mirror
