Passport Timing Belt

I replaced the timing belt on my 96 Passport 150K miles. The engine cranks over but will not fire. I was never 100% comfortable with the timing marks lining up but I don't think any of the sprockets moved when I changed the belt. I turned the engine over with a socket wrench a number of times before I put it back together and did not feel any interference. If the timing was off a tooth or two would it not fire at all? Any other suggestions before I tear back into it would be very helpful? I also replaced the a/c compressor but I doubt that has anything to do with this problem

Re: Passport Timing Belt

If you are getting fuel and spark, then your valve timing is off. Something must have moved when the T-belt was removed. You can do a compression test to check for proper valve timing. You will be all over the place if the V-timing is off.

G/luck
