91 cavalier overheating

i have a 91 cavalier manual. It's got about 140,000 miles. For the past month I have had a hard time keeping it from overheating. I know it is super bad to drive it while it is overheating and I try not to drive it if I don't have to. I just changed the thermostat, and was wondering, is there different kinds of thermostats that I can get to keep the engine cooler. Another thing is that I just moved to pheonix and I don't think the weather much helps either. I had also planned on making some upgrades to the car in the future. So would it be wise to purchase a new radiator? And if upgrading the car would help the overheating problem Should I go for it? I look forward to your replies. thank you.

Re: 91 cavalier overheating

I think u are able to use lower rated thermies so they kick in earlier. My numbers might be off but stock is like 190* and i seen ones at part source that are 180*, i mean even 10*C wud help out if it kicked in earlier..
