Common 3.4 problems
From what i here these are some common problems with the 3.4's after 100,000. well my dad bought a 95 3.4 camaro a while back and as some of you know it had a problem with smoking at start up. Well we found out that this was kinda common for the 3.4 in 95 to do. IT turned out to be the valve seals. When the car sits the oil passes the seals on the valves and sits on the tip if the valve or sometimes the piston and when you start it up, it burns that off then runs clean. When i did a tune up on it the plugs were clean so it is not passing to much oil so he said he will get it fixed at the end of the year probly. The Other problem was after driving it for a while you could smell a gas smell. But there was nothing leaking any where. Turns out this is a VERY common problem for the 3.4's. IT is the o-rings on the injectors.

Re: Common 3.4 problems
Yup, my 3.1 (which is basically the same exact engine as the 3.4) has that injector problem. Its cause of the angle angle flimsy bracket. The o-ring wind up flexing back and fourth and after a while no longer seal properly. The fuel rail on these engines is a very poor design.
