engine struggling

This is on a 1997 accord ex 5speed. Recently it gave me the code P0172, system too rich bank 1. And then the check light went away. Now I notice that the car struggles to pull between 2500 and about 4200 rpms. It's very noticable in 2 and 3 gear at WOT. I don't think it does it when its only partial throttle. It goes back to pulling normally after 4200 rpms. It doesn't always happen though, and less when the car is still not warmed up. The idle is fine and the car has 108k miles on it. What is wrong? Where do I start? If the O2 sensor was bad, wouldn't it throw another code? Another question, if the clutch slips, the engine would rev but the car woudn't go as it should? But that would be true for all gears at any rpm, right? Thanks for any help.
