Wheel/Transmission Bearing Problems
So, the ABS goes off on my 99 grand am se V6. I hate ABS, so I didn't really care too much. Then I hear a loud noise which sounds like a wheel bearing. It sounded like it was coming from the front driver's side wheel, so I bought a new hub assembly for the car and replaced it. The moaning got quieter and the ABS is fixed along with the traction light that the ABS was setting off. It turns out I might have a transmission bearing problem.
 Has anyone had this problem before. My car is going on 93000 miles. If anyone has had this problem before, I'm just curious how much it's going to cost me. The car is very very clean and I take care of it. I want to know if it will be worth it to me to get it fixed, or just to pawn it off on someone else. Thanks for the help

I havent heard of any transmision bearing going out unless they were racing on it. But its not unlikly something could hav failed internally.
Why do you think its the trans bearing making the noise? On the bearings, you Probley should hav replaced both Hub assemblies at the same time. Also when you replaced the Hub did you use an impact air tool? IF you did chances are you could hav damaged the new one. Could also be a CV-joint moaning too.

Didn't use an impact gun or air tools on anything. Knew that. I only replaced one hub assembly because I didn't have another 270 to throw at the second one.
I work at a car dealership in Madison wisconsin and one of the techs I work with said it might be a trans bearing... that's why I thought that. Idk about the CV joint, I guess it could be. I'm taking it in tomorrow. I've had enough of dealing with it. The car is in great condition, I'm just sick of american cars. Thanks for the help!

other side probably, or tires cupped rotate tires and see if it quites down
