New key from vin #
Hello all,
I have two severely worn out keys, to the point where the ignition is really hard to turn, keys come out with motor running, etc. Do dealers keep some kind of vin database they can cut keys from? Anybody know what they'd charge if they can? It's just a normal key without a resistor on it or anything. If they can't or it's expensive I'll just get another lock cylinder with a key from a boneyard, but a new key is easier. Edit: Yes, $27.50. Nevermind. Re: New key from vin #
Sorry, allow me to clarify. I went to a chevy dealer and got a new key that works just fine. All that's needed is ID and proof of ownership. $20 to look up whatever info they need, $7.50 for the key.
