where has the gas money gone?

help me help me i have a gas guzzlin` 1996 f250 4x4 off road the truck rides great,handles like a dream and will pull down a house!!!, but the mileage
or shall i say lack of mileage makes the truck all but undriveable.it has a
3 speed auto and locking hubs. except for it`s thirst i love my truck
any suggestions would be great [dont tell me to buy a chevy

Really the only thing you can do that might help with that.. is find a different transmission and diffs... That might help with your milage a little bit... but as it's an f250... Superduty I assume... 130L tank or so.. You are seeing what.. an average of 500kms to a tank if you run with a load.. oor.. I've seen my moms get 850or so.. to a tank.. but that's driving it nice...

You could always learn to keep your foot out of the pedal too.. Could help..

Whens the last time you had a tune up done on it? Cleaned injectors and all that junk?

well... changingstuff is always an option,but changing what? it`s not like buying a new pair of shoes[haha].with two tanks i should have known something was up!my truck is very well maintained,it`s the only reason
i have`nt set fire to it yet!.i need more specific help thanx

What engine? I assume a C-6 3 speed auto transmission. What differential gear ratio? Any performance modifications? Tire size? Lifted or not? More information will let folks make suggestions.
