2000 Regal Blower Motor
Word to the wise ....
If you lose one speed on your blower motor control chances are the blower motor resistor has gone bad. GM from the factory used a little circuitboard to control the speeds and they slowly burn out. I had to change both the blower motor and the resistor today when my blower needed too much amperage to turn over. At the first sign of any chirping in your motor, replace it or you will be replacing both items. Hope this helps someone else ... giving back a little cuz I have gotten plenty of help here. total cost @ parts america was ~$130.00 for both items. |

Re: 2000 Regal Blower Motor
Thanks for the feedback. It is a common problem.
BTW - Just to clarify, if you have a digital dual climate control equipped '97 and up Regal they do not have a blower motor resistor (BMR). It is a solid state device called a blower motor control module and expensive too compared to the BMR. Also, the blower motor for digital climate systems has a different part number than a manual HVAC system.
