98 tahoe hood release not working

the other day my wife says to me," honey , i think the truck battery is going dead" so i go to pop the hood,only to find my release latch doesnt work no mo. anyone know how to get under the hood without dynamite.

you should beable to see the release part from the gril, just reach up and pull on the end of the cable if it is still there. if its not there you should be able to reach the trip lever.

good luck its going to be a bear to do the job.
