kickers....any good?

i am buying 2 pairs of 6" kicker DS speakers to put in my '98 cavy, i already have adapters to convert the front from 4x6 to 6" and the back from 6x9 to 6" and i am hooking this up to a Pioneer 4800 radio just to get that out so people dont say i need parts to make this work

i am not looking to produce ground moving bass or anything but still want bass that is not going to crackle like stock speakers do. and want good mids and highs.

i basicly just want a massive improvment from the stock set up

is this a good set up for what i want? considering stock is crap i think the will be exactly what i want

let me know what you guys think

Re: kickers....any good?

yea that sounds good. but if you want some bass get a little power subwoofer. not that expensive but still good enough for what you want. i never trust little door speakers for bass anyways. so i set the bass all the way down on the cd player for the door speakers then crank the amp up enough to my liking.

Re: kickers....any good?

another thing is that i had some 6.5" pioneers in the doors for about 2 days but it sounded like crap, and when i took the door panel off i noticed the bottom of the speaker had been pressed against the door panel and compressed, can i cut a 6" hole in the door panel so the speaker and grill stick out a little and that way there wont be pressure on the speaker causing it to get ruined?

would that look like cool? i think it would but im not sure, and i dont want to do something i will regret

this is what they look like for those of you who dont know

Re: kickers....any good?

you could try to mount the speakers from the back instead of from the front. i wouldnt cut the door panel cause it would look dumb. other than that you should get 4x6's
