Eaton Locking diffs are not repairable, you need a replacement unit, consider some of the better A/M locking or posi units.

Maxwedge is right, there is nothing serviceable in the governor and taking it apart will do you no good, once the GM gov-loc goes bad it's throwaway. GM sells them as an assembly, as well as other aftermarket companys that buy direct from dana/spicer corp.

Ok 1st im sorry for the confusion .Im not trying to take it apart i just want it out the whole carrier.I took out the retaing bolt that holds the pin between the axels thats out np the pin fell right out.Now i cant find the tool to get the carrier apart to remove it from the rearend. I can't get the gov-lock apart to get to the spide gears, to get to the c-clips,to pull the axels out of the carrier. there is a special tool that presses 2 pins out so im told i can't find any info @ all on it i just want this carrier out of my rearend thats all ..... sorry again for any confusion ...... ps help me get this carrier out.

Re: 95 tahoe rearend gov-lock carrier is loose 1/2" end play in axel's

Where I work now I frequently use Dana's website to order parts and print complete service manuals for Heavy duty on highway transmissions and differentials I noticed they do have a section for light duty applications with diagrams and literature. Hopefully if no one answers this link will help you.

http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?cvsp~Depdf~5~AXL~

I personally have never messed with a differential as its a bit over my head, and I never have had the tools needed to properly set one up anyway.
