Painted My Tail Lights

Well I Painted My Tail lights With Testors Candy Red And They Turned Out Awesome, But I Did Have A Couple Of Problems!!! First Off The Paint Scratches, And Scuffs Very Easily. Second Problem Is There Is Some FISHEYE On The Tails!! I Havent Clear Coated It Yet Would That Fix The Problem Of Scratches??? And About The FISHEYE Should I Just Wet Sand The Tails Down A Little Bit, And Do A Lit Coat???? What Type Of Sand Paper Should I Use????

thanks

clear coating should fix the scratching problem, as far as "fisheye" what do you mean? Call me stupid but I have never heard that term before

what u should probably do is go to wal-mart or an auto store and get the finest (i think its like 700-900 grit...not 2 sure though) sand-paper u can get...and color sand it..wet the sand paper and lightly sand the taillight.if you have enough paint on the taillight it will take all of the imperfections outta the paint (fisheyes, runs, etc..)then after that go ahead and clear coat it.

good luck with your job.

I live in Cali and I see painted tails all the time. Cops dont care long as the shit lights up red. They are more likely to pull you over for altezzas or clears.

I am just gonna paint my stocks all red. I dunno what I want to do with the center piece though, I am thinking of getting one off an 88 sedan (before they were reflectors, they used to be strips of black plastic) and then get some paint same color as my car and spray that shit blue, and it will look tight.

Truth Is If YOur Going TO Buy Clears, and Paint the whole taillight red your wasting your money, just paint the stock tails, trust me its very unified, the only reason im gonna buy clear tails is to paint half red, and leave the other half clear (2g civic look) !!!!
