brakes
the last couple of days whenever I would step on the brakes the brake pedal would go almost all the way to the floor. I checked my break fluid and it's full. Could it be my breaks or could it be my power booster(I think that is what it is called). It's just happened all of a sudden

Re: brakes
Could be air in your system. If you know how to drain your brake fluid then do it yourself and add some new fluid and try not to get air in the system. Also check to make sure to booster line from your intake is hooked up to the brake booster and that it is not ripped or leaking.

Re: brakes
Bad booster will make your padel hard, if the system has not been opend it probably isnt going to be air. More than likely its your master cylinder.

Re: brakes
Master cylinder's aren't expensive. I picked up my (brand new) '90-93 'teg m/c on eBay for $50. One thing you might want to check is your wheel cylinder & hard brake lines on your rear brakes. My rear brake lines went bad (leaked due to rust) & I eventually had to replace them. You'll know if you see brake fluid on the ground under the car near your back wheels...
It's not an expensive fix, but it's something to check out & keep an eye on... |
