I have a 1993 camaro SS. I want to install a Keyless Entry system in it but I don't know how to or if I even can. Please help me.

Re: Keyless Entry

That might be a tough one. I don't think they made an SS model in 93.

Re: Keyless Entry

Not until 96 that I know of but he might have the hood and intake so its basically a SS. Anyway, its fairly simple they make a million aftermarket kits to do it if your cars is not already wired to just put it directly in that is. Check ebay for keyless entry you will find like a million results.

Re: Keyless Entry

You do not have a 1993 camaro SS because there is no such thing as a 1993 camaro ss.

assuming you have a 93 anyway, it would be difficult due to the chip in the key.

Your thinking of remote start. In which case thats easy too, they make a adapter for vats or you can program vats out like I did or you can purchase a resistor and manually bypass it,

I know Best Buy installs keyless entry systems, as well as alarms and stuff. I think Best Buy has good prices and good work. I think you can buy a 2 year warranty on parts and labor from there too.

Re: Keyless Entry

Does any one know what kind of door locks a 1993 camaro has? Positive, Negative, or Reverse?

Re: Keyless Entry

I think this is what your looking for

Power Lock 5wi

Notes: Non-keyless versions: Use light blue for lock and dark blue for unlock. Both wires are located in either door harness. The passenger switch is the master switch. Keyless versions: Use red/black for lock and orange/black for unlock. Both wires are located in the passengers kick panel at the keyless entry module. Do NOT use the orange power wire at the keyless module or door lock switch to power your door lock relays. The passenger switch is the master switch.

Power Unlock 5wi

Notes: Non-keyless versions: Use light blue for lock and dark blue for unlock. Both wires are located in either door harness. The passenger switch is the master switch. Keyless versions: Use red/black for lock and orange/black for unlock. Both wires are located in the passengers kick panel at the keyless entry module. Do NOT use the orange power wire at the keyless module or door lock switch to power your door lock relays. The passenger switch is the master switch.
