Ls1 & Ls2
Hey everyone, I really know NOTHING about these two engines, and was wondering if someone could give me a crash cours in the difference between them, and what makes them good engines, what cars they're in, etc. Any usefull info that is important to know about these engines would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I didn't actually post anything, but them and XXX.XXX have great info stickied in their forums about those motors.
Much easier to link you to them and allow you to read up on them than to try to type it all out for you.

The only REAL difference is the number at the end.
I read that GM is pulling more tricks out its proverbial hat. A new 6.2L LS3 ~ 430hp LS8 - Supercharged from the factory ~ 500hp LS9 - Intercooled and Supercharged ~ 650hp (to compete with Ford GT). Its also rumored to be the new engine in the 'Blue Devil' dubbed Corvette SS. |

"Stingray" guys.
As I understand it, GM has officially named it a stingray. And there are plenty of differences past the last number.

so there bringning back the vette stingray?? that'll be SICK as hell! ..if only I weren't broke as hell
. with the LS9 it looks like dodge is gonna have some catching up to do with that '08 viper. i'm psyched about the new challenger too,, maybe they might even release a new 'cuda soon

I would be thinking that the new 'SS', 'Sting Ray', or whatever Vette would be called Z06 and that'd be that.. and the Z06 we have now will be the Z51 option
