Re: 91 3.8 bolt removal help

Easiest way, bar none = impact gun.

When not availabe, you need to drop teh flexplate (flywheel) cover in between the motor and trans, as if you were going to remover the starter, that piece of plastic that covers it. then you'll see the flexplate theeth. You'll need to put a large and strong screwdriver or or pry bar (ideal) in the teeth and and against the block to stop it from turning. I'd place my helper ther, bencause if you loose grip of the pry bar, somebody is going to get soe cut knuckles.

Do you have an air compressor and a large impact wrench? You will need at least, an impact capable of 250 ft lbs of torque. If not and you choose to do it manually, you will need a "long breaker bar" and also need to pull the torque converter cover loose, then wedge the flywheel with a large screwdriver or clamp a set of vice grips on the flywheel to hold it, while you loosen the bolt. I would recommend the impact!
