iPod installation in my car. 56K WARNING!!!

i just finished up my installation in my 97 accord. here are some pics (i hope)

the goods, minus the head unit which is already installed.

where it's goin. took out the passenger seat.

cable ran from the back of the deck (alpine CDA-9827) down under the carpet.

bottom of the passenger seat where the box will be mounted

me marking the drill holes.

the finished product of the box mounted on the bottom of the passenger seat.

the iPod is mounted in the arm rest between the front seats. there was a nice little elastic strap that fits the iPod perfectly. with the addition of the case on my iPod, an ifrogz case, it stays in there pretty snug.

close up of the iPod in the console arm rest.

passenger seat installed back in the car with the box mounted to the bottom of the seat. all the wires are hidden and you can't see anything, unless you look under the seat or flip open the arm rest.

Wow...very nice looking. So clean and everything. Does the h/u let you make all the iPod controls from it? Yeah I know it's a dumb question.

Re: iPod installation in my car. 56K WARNING!!!

yeah it does allow me to control the iPod through the deck. the only downsides are that it is a little slow in response time. I was aware of this before i bought and i can handle it seeing how i don't intend on changing the song every minute of my driving. the other downfall is that it is limited on how mang songs/artists/albums it will show. i also knew about this and can live with it.

thanks for the compliment. i'm pleased with the way it looks also.

Re: iPod installation in my car. 56K WARNING!!!

I think there is a better way----iPod car adapter.
this adapter makes iPod or MP3 as a CD changer, and play iPod
or MP3 through car
audio system, it does not use FM transmitter, but wire connection.
(Plug into the CD changer port of the Head Unit). Once it is equipped,
you can choose music of iPod or USB disk from the car stereo's buttons
or steering wheel controls,
For example,
1 choose playlist from iPod
2 Select songs by Next or Previous
3 Multi Play mode: Repeat, Random, Scan
4 Charge function

I think it is useful. If anything what to know, you can ask me.
