weak battery?

i have a 1000W AMP, underglow, and 2 Tachs running to my battery. is there any way to up the wattage on my alternator or do i just need a new 1 with a high watt output?

Jack a 2.4 engine's alt, unless thats what u already have :P Im not sure is ur battery old and alt still good? U cud get new of both..

you need a new alternator, you cant adjust it, and just cuz an engine is bigger doesnt mean its alternator is more powerful, if its not designed for your specific engine, you're probably gonna have troubles getting it to fit

also, just curious, why do you have 2 tachs?

edit: also now that i think about it, why the FUCK do you need 1000 watts worth of sound, lol

lol im runnin 2 10' alpine type R's with a 1000W Kenwood AMP and i think the RMS is 400, peak power at 850
and i have 1 gauge cluster overlay and 1 tach...so what kinda alternator do you suggest? theres 1 that starts with a D that i hear is pretty good

yeah I was wondering the same thing about the 2 tach situation. and with the 1000 watts, it for disturbing the peace of course lol by the way what setup do you have???

Get an optima red top battery or for more insurance, the yellow top battery.

fuck all that battery shit. i am running three amps, two subs, interior leds, some on the exterior. dvd player, and a radio all on the stock battery and alt. Try a capacitor for your amp and you'll be ok

For 1kw, I agree with the above poster. Get a one-farad cap for about 80 bucks, slap it in, miller time.

seen people spend the $250 on the alt and the $150 on the battery and still sit there at the stop light and watch their lights dim. Those cap work wonders

you can find them cheaper on ebay though. you run the power wire from teh battery to it and then the wire from it to teh amp

basically it saves your battery.

so when the subs so BBBBOOOOOMMM and sucks power it comes from teh cap and not your battery. Make sure that you got the proper guage wire though, like 4 or 2
