1995 Camaro Idle
My idle jumps from around 600-1200 RPM, when sitting in park at a damn train, it idles around 900-1100, in drive with brake engaged around it is always different, sometimes 600, sometimes 1000 etc. Did a minor tune-up about 3-4k miles ago, new plugs/wires, rotation of tires, didn't check the timing(its likely the problem, but I don't have a timing light). Other than the timing, what else could make my idle fluctuate so much?

Re: 1995 Camaro Idle
Trips no lights, gonna get a timing light soon though...if it's not the timing, I'll move to the tps as cavalier said...vaccum leak is possible, but would it still vary in its idle if there happened to be one?

. Nope. Completely different. The hybrid is closer to OBD1 than OBD2. It uses most of the same sensor and commands as a OBD1 system but has a soldered non removable reprogramable eprom and doesn't not trigger the codes with the check engine via jumping the terminals, instead you have to scan. To me and many f-body users the hybrid is the most saught after cause of the ease of programming,

Re: 1995 Camaro Idle
Vacuum leaks , even very small ones can cause irratic idle speeds
That is where i would check first, - since you did a tune up you may have moved a dry rotted or cracked hose and created a vacuum leak |
