lsd insersts? are they worth?

well i was bored (at work) and i was looking for next item to order, and i went to extrempsi.com and for some reason i decided to go in the lsd sections. i found this http://www.extremepsi.com/store/cust...1&veh=2G%20DSM and i started reading and i decided to yahoo it. i found some articles, but i still have a few Q".

when 1 tire is spining, it make the other tire engage so you get equal power to both tires, what happens if you are turning a 90 degree turn at 30 MPH, does it count as spinning? since one is going faster than the other, or is just to be used on "track only "cars?

Yeah, I have been interested in the lsd inserts as well.. I wonder if they really work? I have also heard storys about them grenading... and destroying the tranny...???

I think the thing in that link is more of a "spool" type deal than a real LSD. My bud has a spool in the rear end of his Nova, and its not very streetable, handling is crap. It strictly for drag. It pretty much a full time locker. I could be wrong about that being a spool though.....but doesnt really look like an lsd.

i have a slowboy lsd insert in my spyder, and i love it. my launches became way better when both tires are trying to pull you, turning will becaome a little wider, but nothing you would dislike. i give it a thumbs up

I use to know the answer to that. I know their have been a few good threads about LSD inserts in the past, but searching didn't bring up shit.. I don't know it's because of the new forum format or what. IIRC, inserts help only in strait lines.

Our turning circles are already in the same class as mid sized trucks so whats another couple of feet lol.

I believe they force both wheels to turn at the same speed. Obviously, this is terrible for road racing, autox, etc. but great for straight drag. If you want the real deal, gotta get a real LSD
