Camaros

Does anyone know where I could find a 1969 camaro for $1000-$2000, just has to run, I don't care how the body looks. I'd prefer one that needs some work done.

Re: Camaros

Good luck. One that is complete and not running will go for big bicks. One that runs and drives will cost even more. Expect to pay a premium price for one that has little rust. Any Camaro enthisiast dreams of having a '69, I've looked for a long time. I've had my eye on one for a long time now, but it's not for sale (and it's rotting away). So good luck finding one.
Year-One has come out w/a complete, all new 69 Camaro body for $10K+.
A good rolling basket case could bring $5K to $8K depending on condition.

Re: Camaros

I haven't seen a deal like that in 5 years. Last time I saw them sell for a decent price was about 8 years ago when I bought mine. I paid $750 for the complete but disassembled car. I bought another one for parts for $650 that was missing the motor and trans. Since then some local camaro shops started buying up every first gen.Camaro they could find and disassembled them and added the parts to thier "used" inventory in the huge warehouse. Pretty much gauranteeing you had to buy from them. I would say you will need at least $4000 to get anything close to what you described.
