'97 540I dash lights

there is a green light and a red light right below where the fog light switch is. The green light stays on and every so often the red light comes on for @ 10 seconds and it sounds like a bird chirpping. Does anyone know what this is and what it is trying to tell me.

I found a little bird in a Jag once...It might be aftermarket radar or security system.
