Just Bought A 159

I just ordered a 159 2.2 JTS they've just gone on sale in Oz. delivery expected in about 3 weeks.

Anyone know if there are performance chips available for them yet?

Wonderful car, even if when I tried it, I found that the engine was not so nice than the previous Twin Sparks. And there will be an huge difference with your V6.
But for the rest, the 159 is wonderful, the handling is excellent. Good choice !

Which 159 ? Impression, Distinctive or Selective (if there are the same versions in Australia) ? Which colors ?

In Australia there will be only 3 initially, the 159 2.2 Ltr JTS, 2.4JTD diesel and arriving at the end of the month the 3.2 ltr V6 Q4 wheel drive all in 6 speed manual. At present there are only the 2.2 JTS and 2.4 JTD. I have driven the 2.2 JTS and while it is down on power on my 156 V6 (136 kw verse 140 kw) and the 159 is a heavier car. Nevertheless, it is the future of Alfa Romeo and perhaps I'll get the V6 (it's A$25K or 50% more expensive than the 2.2 JTS) next (after my 159's 3 year lease expires).

What colours? What colour is Alfa Romeo? Alfa RED of course. Intertior is black (of course).

Of course red ! I agree !! I had two Alfa (a 147 and a 156 in Red Alfa for the first and Red Proteo metallic for the second and also for a 155 we had).
But another combination of coulor which is not bad is black interior leather red.

In Italy it's present one CHIP for more horsepower.

The improvements are from 185 to 195 CV.

The italian version are progression, distinctive and exlusive (with navi and bluetooth)

32.000 euros for Exclusive version

A couple more photos on the road

Have driven around 1,300 klms so far. Driving impression so far. There is a willingness in the engine that I am not game to explore yet (still running in). Quite a drifferent feel to my 156 V6 and I am still learning the car. Although the car is bigger you get the feeling of being cocooned in the driving position, perhaps this is accentuated by the insulation as the car seems much quieter than the 156 (both a plus and a negative for an Alfisti). It is a true Alfa though as it loves corners and inspires much confidence in this area. It will be no doubt a great mountain car for high speed bends. Seats (leather) a more comfortable than the 156 and more supportive too.

2008 : Alfa Romeo 8C
end of 2008 : Alfa 159 and 159 SportWagon, Brera and Spider. Then, probably the 169 and 149, but nothing official for these two models
