Question Some expert help...

I have 2 simple questions for those who know about cars better than myself. The first question I really need help on, for it's in regards to my ecu. The owner who did my jdm h22a swap told me that he didn't put in a jdm ecu and kept in the USDM ecu because, based on what he's telling me, that they run off the same specs. Can someone verify this for me please. The next question is about a check engine light coming on, where he told me that is due to the fact that jdm h22a motors don't come with an EGR valve and some other vacuum hoses as do the USDM H22 motor. Can someone please help me out by replying, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: Some expert help...

I have a JDM H22a and an Ebay ECU and NO check engine light. You should definately check the code to make sure. From what I know, the JDM and USDM ECUs have different specs (JDM has more aggressive fuel and timing) and also the JDM h22 is 10.6:1 compression ration where the USDM H22 is 10.0:1. I'm not too sure about that whole EGR thing tho. Anyone else wanna help this guy?
