Suspected fuel supply problem

I have a 1993 bonny se that when the gas tank drops to around a half tank or less, and in turns or under acceleration, engine will hesitate and sometimes stall. I'm thinking possibly a fuel pump, clogged screen or the sending unit. Please help, I don't want to spend the money to replace all three.

Check the fuel pressure as this happens, if low either way the tank comes out.

Re: Suspected fuel supply problem

The 92-94 H-bodies that came with the Nippondenso pump have fuel pick-up problems that cause exactly what you are describing. The new design replacement pump and strainer will take care of the issue, so it sounds like a new fuel pump is what you most likely need. Do like Max suggested and check fuel pressure when the problem arises to be sure. No sense dropping the tank to find out it's something else.
