Re: Boost on stock 1.8T??

they have a Ko3s if they are 2002+, it can boost up to 14.7 pounds without upgrading fuel, you add a 4 bar FPR and you can boost up to 25 pounds with tuning. I am boosting a peak of 20 pounds with my jetta. i dont suggest going above 25 pounds on a stock turbo because that is out of the efficiency range for it.

I've heard that just by chipping a jetta you can get more boost...But I dont understand, is the turbo linked into the computer?? also, any clue what kind of chips work and which ones to avoid?

They arent chips, per say, it's an upgraded program for your ECU which increases the Boost to 1bar (which is 14.7 pounds) The amount of boost produced by the turbo is electronically controlled. I am going to go with GIAC for my ECU tuning, but you could also go with APR which has a good program as well.
