87 GMC Sierra question

I'm doing a tuneup for my dad's friends 1987 GMC Sierra 3/4ton truck. It has the 5.7L engine. The only problem I have is the distributor cap. I replaced it with a new one and marked the old one for each cylinder. Well I marked them with paper and the wind blew the paper away lol. Can anyone please tell me the numbering for the distributor cap? I think I have the cylinders right. When looking at the front of the truck, 1,3,5,7 are on the driver side, 2,4,6,8 on the passenger side. Is that right?

Thanks for any help.

Re: 87 GMC Sierra question

Yes, and the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Those '87 TBI trucks are getting hard to come by these days too....
