Still no turnin over!!

well i replaced the fuel filter and put new spark plugs in and still having the same problem... My 95 cavalier don't want to turn over! on rainy days i have no problem with turning the key and it starting right up. but when its all sunny out, i turn the key and everything lights up but the engine won't crank! and usually after about an hour of fustration and disconnecting and reconnecting the batter it will turn over and start right up. Any one have any more suggestions for me? really tryin not to have to bring it to a shop!

Re: Still no turnin over!!

check your battery cable and make sure everything is securely attached. do you have one of those batteries that you pour water in (i don't know if thats all batteries, don't call me an idiot) if you DO, then that may need more water because in hot weather it could become steam on the cap of the reservoir thing and not really water? does that make sense?

Re: Still no turnin over!!

starter problem maybe?

or maybe your fuel pump.. my car wouldnt start recently due to a bad fuel pump.. i could still hear it working but it wasnt giving the engine enough fuel pressure.

It is most definetly your starter. Check your connections. You may need a new one.

Re: Still no turnin over!!

On my 97, there is a secondary ground right under the battery, about 1/16" copper plate, 1" square. It screws into the battery "table". If it is loose, weird stuff will happen. Sometimes my light/radio would work, but the car wouldnt start. Others, the car would start/run, radio ok, but the lights would go out, or guages.
