2002 Blazer Starter replacement

Lookin at having to replace starter. So far, battery and alternator check ok. Truck starts reluctantly, and seems to be gettting worse.

Haven't done much on this vehicle, so not sure I'm locating the starter correctly. How hard is it to get to? Any cheaper/easier options to try before diving in head irst?

Re: 2002 Blazer Starter replacement

What is the start problem because the starter on a newer model is seldom the reason - if it turns over OK then look at the fuel pressure first. If it turns over slowly even a new battery can be crap - just put one in and 1 week later it died - quality construction. Let us know.

Re: 2002 Blazer Starter replacement

In this case, it wasn't the starter either. I thought I had confirmed that the battery was good. Went to get a new starter, guy was kind enough to come out and check things out. He was convinced it wasn't the starter, and needed a battery with adequate crank amps. Replaced battery, and all is well, so far. I'll be back if there are more problems. Thanks.
