93 - shifting hard into 2nd gear
I have been battling leaks on my transmission for a while and in some cases I lost a lot of fluid. Recently it has began to shift very hard into second. All other gears are smooth. The fluid level is correct. Anyone know what is going on or how to adjust?
Thanks

Re: 93 - shifting hard into 2nd gear
FYI - I just changed filter and gasket, front and rear seal.

Re: 93 - shifting hard into 2nd gear
at 217K you are probably seeing the beginning of the end, and time for a rebuild. Like the front and rear seals, the internal seals wear out as well. If your fluid level dropped drastically, it is likely the trans overheated at some point, which cooks the piston seals. Fluid escapes past the seals, which leads to slow pressure build and a lag and snap application of the clutches, especially noticable at the 1-2 shift since both the 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions had a hard 1-2 shift to start with.

Re: 93 - shifting hard into 2nd gear
I had it rebuilt at 130k, but it probably time again for a rebuild. What is the difficulty level for rebuilding a transmission on a scale of 1-10 (10 being hardest)? I'm willing to give it a shot.
