May be a resistor check into a search on this, they are not expensive and can be a problem

Re: 2001 durango coling fan
If this is a single fan motor there should be a connector that you can unplug near the fan motor. Place 12volts on one pin and a ground on the other, if the fan doesnt spin then you know the motor is bad. Sometimes you can get just the motor brand new...call around to some of the bigger auto parts stores. If not, get a good used one from www.car-part.com
Maybe here... http://www.autoparts-autoparts.com/d...densers_6.html

If it's a resistor module, it will still work at full speed setting but probably nothing else. Again, this assumes the same setup as my 1999 5.9. Changing the fan motor is a nightmare on mine. It took like 13 hours & every cuss word I ever heard got uttered at least twice. Keep in mind that you are pulling the fan assembly, taking it apart & replacing the motor portion. My dash board had to be nearly removed to do this. The dealership gave me a price of like $900 just for the labor & they really didn't want to do it because of how hard it was. |
