i have a 95 beretta with a 3.1 litre v6 in it and i havejust put a tranny it and it will go in reverse but not in any other gear it is an automatic transmission it also has smoke caming out of the engine from the dipstick , the power steering pump and other various places i could not identify, what might be the problem and what should i do about it?-

First, welcome to the forums. Smoke coming from everywhere under the hood is not good, unless during the tranny swap they got fluids all over and it's just burning off. Why did you change the trans, and did you do it yourself or have someone do it? Reverse is the highest pressure gear, so a bad torque converter may be the issue (did you re-use the torque converter from the old trans?)
