A different type of project car...
ok so heres the story, my sisters boyfriend just got this great job, and wants to start putting money into his car, a 1990 nissan sentra... well idea of boosting (he drove my eclipse) has him by the balls. and he wants to fix up his old rust bucket. yesterday we painted it silver. and it has a carbon fiber functional scoop on the driver side fender. enough about that. we passed the idea of putting a T25 into his nissan, and we both like the idea... only its water cooled... would this be a problem? also, i know alot about woking with boosted cars, i just dont really know how to build one, so i'm not sure how or even if i needed to set up vac lines for the turbo, the BOV, or boost gauge. if anyone has any input, that would be great. also, if your interested, i can post some pics of the progress. if all checks out, we'll probably get the turbo project into motion sometime mid next week. please, anyone with any info, input, anything, please reply!

Re: A different type of project car...
messing with a turbo car is one thing, turbo'ing a car that wasn't meant for it is a whole different game. Regarding the watercooling, many people run mitsu turbos without the water lines, it will be fine, but will likely reduce the life of the turbo somewhat.

Re: A different type of project car...
I suggest he buy engine that already have a turbo, and drop it in, just like 240sx with S13, S14, S15, I like S13 alot, one time I was about to build a 240sx with S13 on it, but I cant leave dsm world, cause my goal is to own a turbo dsm.

Re: A different type of project car...
Bolting the unit on, running the lines, etc, is all trivial IMO. The real magic is in the engine management. How do you plan to add fuel as boost goes up? This is the tricky part

Re: A different type of project car...
wouldnt an SAFC take care of the fuel problem? if we cantg boost this car, then he is going to get an RX-7 3gen, twin turbo, but he would rather build his car, then buy it. so we really want to get the Nissan boosting.
