Exclamation VR Commodore - Intermittent Starting Problem

Hello Every....

I have a 1993 VR Commodore Wagon with a 5 Speed Manual that has an extremely annoying intermittent starting problem .
More often than not it will start first turn of the key, but on the times it doesn't the engine will still turn over but it just won't start. When this happens I usually turn the ignition off and sit there for 3 or 4 minutes and then try it again, sometimes it will start, but if it doesn't I repeat the routine.
There is no real consistent scenario in which this will occur.
On the rare occasion it has stalled while I am actually driving.
When the problem happens the car has always started eventually but it can take anywhere from 3 minutes to an hour before it does.

I've had it looked at by mechanics and autoelectricians but they couldn't find any problems.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Re: VR Commodore - Intermittent Starting Problem

Check the crank angle sensor but the most common VR problem is the ignition coil packs dying when they are cold and also when they get too hot...

The MSD aftermarket coils are cheaper and much better than the factory GMH coils
