Fan Clutch

I'm changing the fan clutch in my 96 tahoe. When i get ready to take the nut off to remove the fan clutch it just goes round like the threads aren't loosening any suggestions.

Take a cold chisel or muffler gun with the chisel tool and crack the nut.
And it always unscrews the opposite dirrection the fan turns.
