Headers

Hey guys,
im going with a whole new exhaust system and I was wondering which headers whould be a good choice for my 1973 elky 350. Its a daily driver.
Im wondering if hooker is a good brand and i want a good header that will increase horsepower and will not have exhaust leaks.
Thanks so much

Re: Headers

Hooker is a quality header. Before install take a file & go over the header flang until you have shiny metal around each exhaust port. This will insure that it is reasonably flat. After install, warm up the engine, when it cools retighten ALL header bolts. After a couple of days of use, retighten ALL header bolts. After a week or two, Retighten ALL header bolts. (Yes, even the hard to get to ones.) I would use VHT paint before install & then touch up as needed after. Jon

Re: Headers

I used loctite on my header flange bolts on one car, which worked great for me. I like the filing the flange tip too.
