1g throttle body -help-
i finally got the motor back together but the issue im having now is that my turbo throttle body is pretty much junk and im having a hard time finding a new one for a decent price, my question is that i got a 1g 4g63 n/t throttle body thats completly rebuilt. Is there any way i can get it to work?

Re: 1g throttle body -help-
Yes it can be made to work with a few modifications. I have an extra 90 turbo TB if your interested in just buying that. All you would have to do is put your TPS on it... Yours is a 90 right?

Re: 1g throttle body -help-
I think all you have to do is the EGR blockoff plate and block off some of the vaccum lines... I would just get a 90 degree elbow that will fit it instead of trying to modify the one you have. Also, what year is the n/t tb from? The 90 ones had a different TPS than other years. If the n/t tb is from a different year then you will need the TPS from that year (if its not already on it) and then hardwire it into your wiring harness. Sorry I don't have a writeup on it.

Re: 1g throttle body -help-
Well what year is the n/t TB from and does it have its TPS on it still? I need to know that before I can tell you what you need to do.

Re: 1g throttle body -help-
You can't use a 1990 TB or TPS. The N/A TB are perfectly fine, you will have to live without a tb-elbow due to the lip on the n/a. The opening on the n/a is a little over 60mm though it tapers down to 60mm at the butterfly. The TPS, ISC are both the same between turbo & n/a cars. It is recomended to replace the tb seal on a n/a, you can find that on Vfaq.com.

Re: 1g throttle body -help-
To clarify, it depends on the wiring harness. The fact that you have a 90 motor is meaningless. A car with a 91-99 wiring harness can use 91-99 turbo TBs, and NT TBs, though I thought only the ones from the 2.0 are worth using. Can't guarantee that one from a 1.8 will work. The NT TBs require turbo TB shaft seals to be swapped in. I don't think that modifying the UICP to work with a NT TB is worth the time and effort at all, just swap the ISC and FIAV subassembly over assuming the basic TB itself is ok (plate or shaft is not bent, etc).
