Adding Power Seats
I have the chance to pick up a set of power front seats for my truck. Neither one of mine now are power. Would I just need to run a 12v source from the fuse panel or somewhere to feed them, or is there more or less to it? Truck is a 2000 ECSB. Thanks

Boy that was a lot of help with my question. Thanks. Since noone wants to answer my question, I guess I'll answer yours. Nooone needs power seats, but my seats are worn and ripped, at least the drivers side is, and I found a power set for cheaper than I can find a manual set for. So why not? No, I don't need them, but they would be more comfortable then my old ones.

Re: Adding Power Seats
Yes I think so... you just need to provide a12v power to the seats using the appropriate size wire. I don't recal anything special about power seats. I would make sure to get all the parts with the seats though. Yoy may have to provide a ground too.

![]() I'm not sure if the non-power seated trucks are pre-wired (never looked at one to see) but you should be able to tell. I have definitely heard of people paying extra to have dealerships swap them out so they can get a particular exterior color they wanted, but I don't know what it entailed. If I remember right, the wires come out of the carpet on the side closest to the center, at the back. I'm at work right now, and parked WAY too far away to run out and look, but I can check later. Take a look at yours around that area, and you can probably feel if there's a harness under the carpet right there, or even better a small hole to pull one through. It's not like they are computer controlled or anything, so I doubt it's more complicated than providing power and ground if it's not already there.

Re: Adding Power Seats
I don't have power seats, but I can't raise and lower the front part of my seat. You should have a lever on the right side next to the center console.
