there's a company who does/did (never found a web-page or article) the conversion and they called it strawberrry face (or was it the company name).
Well anyway it's not a secret conversion anymore but quite expensive if you don't own a body shop. I'll go for that conversion (Sil1580) too as here in Europe there will be less than maybe 20 cars like that and mostly they will be located in UK so when I'm finished with the project I'll be the only one in Switzerland with an SR powered Sil 1580

Yeah, it's call a s15 sileighty , aka the strawberry face conversion. They call it that because in Japanese 15 sounds similar to strawberry (Itchigo). If you make a s13 sileighty it'll be more original then the s15 cause everyone is doing it.

Sil 1580

you see a lot more pics of these lately but they are still far from popular... The Signal Auto Drifter X is badass, its a Sil1580 and its on my signature.

Yeah I read about it on ss couple issue back. It is that target kit looks soo nice on it. Man, these guys are crazy drifters after checking the signal website recently, they already have paint chips on the bottom of the front bumper ooouch, and there are no seat belts in that car, haha. I still like the Feast silvia better, those custom mods are soo cool.

as was already said, it's called the strawberry face conversion because the japanese word for 15 is the same as the japanese word for strawberry. the company that makes the kits to put an S15 face on an S13 is called West Yokohama. they don't have and have never had a webpage, which is a damn shame, but their kits are sold on takakaira.com and some other parts sites. 1580 is generally the common term for a car like this. i've never heard it with the "Sil" in front before....

that kind of car is dope. that is what i'm trying to put together. it's called many things, usually it's called an ichi go dan sileighty, or just sileighty. or strawberry face sileighty. the strawberry thing came from the way you say 1, 5; 1 is ichi and 5 is go, put them together and you get ichigo, the word for strawberry. west yokohama makes kits and a few smaller outfits are starting to make them as well, the west yokohama site is here: http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~west-y/

i usually hate the idea of a light conversion, but the history of the sileighty is what attracts me to the idea, so i see the ichi go dan as a sort of, progression of a tradition.

pretty much just repeated what i said...anyways, GADZOOKS!! i didn't know West Yoko had a website yet! last time i did a search (like three days ago) it didn't come up with anything...

yeah, it was sorta hard to find, but it's been in my bookmarks for about three months so it's been there. half of it doesn't work, but it's still there.

hey where do you live? aside from a few forums i have never heard of it being called a 1580, my friend heard it being called that in london tho. it really doesn't matter that much, it's a dope car either way, i just think it's kidna funny how names and things change from place to place.

wow, i'm real observant, haha. that's crazy, cause even signal auto calls thier car a sileighty. interesting how many names are for one car. i think i'll stick with ichi go dan sileighty, or just sileighty cause those sound cooler. 1580 sounds like some crazy BMW, haha.

you can call it a Sil80. Technically it is. Its a mix of a Silvia and a 180sx. The original Silvias where S13's and these style are S15's so we say ichigo's and all that so people know what we are talking about. But in Japan the Silvia S15 is still called a Silvia its just the chassies code S15 in those years and that body style. just like in the us we call our cars 240sx's and everyone asks oh what kind and we usually say S14 or S13 hatch etc... just to clear some thnigs up and post whore muhaha

AN interesting note-

The Sileighty was created because the pop-up lights in the 180SX werre so expensive, it was more economical to just bolt on an S13 or even an S15 front end.
