How do you replace the back up light on a 2002 sienna?

I'm about to go. . .

You might have fixed it by now, but just in case...

On my 2001, you have to remove the bolt that holds the pull down strap on. (10 mm). It may have had a cover over it long ago. If yours still does, you will need to pop it off.

Then pop open the plastic covers to expose the two bolts holding the "pull down" handle on. Then remove those two bolts (10 mm). Then start pulling back the plastic shell that goes from the window on down.

It is held on by little plastic "christmas trees" and they will snap out. There are pullers for these at autoparts stores.

Then the inside of the hatch will be totally exposed, and you can remove the light socket by twisting it, and then the bulb just pulls out of the light socket.

I had one burned out for about four years. It always passed inspection, I guess because no one wanted to go to the trouble of changing it.

I just changed it today after having to open up the hatch to get at a failed latch.
