92 T&C 3.3 clunking sound

My 92 T&C started making a funny clunk-clunk-clunk-clunk noise when comming to a stop or real slow speeds, when driving normal theres no sound, only wnen slowig down for a stop. It doesn't make any kind of nouse doing any right or left turns, so I don't think its the cV's. I'm sure this isn't something that hasn't occured to someone else with these wonderful vans.

(BTW I'm still waiting for the dealer to get my bendix 10 ABS parts for this thing which also need repair)

some other info, I drove it around the block with my head oput the window slow, and seems like the noise is comming from the wheel, so maybethe wheel bearings are shot? would that make a weird noise like that at slow speeds? or when comming to a stop?

Is it coming from the rear or the front , If the front I would look closely at the rotors to see if you can find and or see a crack in the rotors.

Re: 92 T&C 3.3 clunking sound

Its from the front, most likely the drivers side front...... but you may be on the right track with the roter, cause the CV boots are like new, and like I said its only when comming to a stop or at a slow speed intermitten. Its probably that or the hub bearing. I'll have a mech look at it tomorrow and see what he thinks, and after that a second opnion from my buddy who does this stuff. Thanks for the reply, I'll post what I find after.

Now just to get the damned Chrysler off the pot with them ABS parts (master cyl)

Re: 92 T&C 3.3 clunking sound

OK my friends, oh brother...... well it seems that this clunking noise from the left front tire area was.......... drum rool............. the damned lugs were loose!! seems someone had loosened them, and that was the last thing I was looking at........... today I went to put some air in the tire cause I figured that may be some part, and the mech there said to check that the lugs are tight, well boy was I surprised to find them all loose. So the point here is, check ALL the small things you don't usually think about. Now to figure who's playin this game. Hope this gives some others the thought to check your lugs now and then.
