Doing the SLP CAI next week and have a quick question

the slp cai is $130 for the kit..it says you also need a filter that they show on the site for $50..do i have to use that one or should i get a k&n air filter instead?

EDIT: LOL just realized it is a K&N air filter it just doesnt say it

So this is an easy install? Ive never installed anything into an engine bay so im hoping its easy! any tips?

Just pick which ever one is cheaper. They are basically the same thing.

Sorry, can't help you there, never worked on a 98+ f-body. Just take your time and have fun with wrenching on your car. First hand experience is the best type of experience.

Re: Doing the SLP CAI next week and have a quick question

should i get the whipser lid as well? Or is it not that big of a deal? I was always confused about the whisper lid as to whether its an addition to a CAI to replace the stock lid or an actual CAI by itself..thanks!

Hey man its easy, all you really need is:
Flathead driver
drill for 2 screws
some type of saw (DREMEL or a Router)

ill show you some pics of mine if you want to see them. The Whisper lid just removes the baffle and silencers for better air flow, there nice im getting one in about a week

hey SLPbirdy! dont get the bosch +4's it seems to make performance worse..get the NGK's. my dads van would backfire like crazy with the +4s then we took it down to the copper plugs (80Cent ones) and it worked fine.. ive also heard the +4'sdrop performance in other cars too..

well to cut the back bottom part area on the air box so the open hole of the intake is showing.
