Lamborghini Murcielago

Hey guys, I always wanted to try the marker technique, so yesterday, I went to buy some and I had my first shot this morning. I'm pretty happy of the result:

I used colored pencils, a black and red pen, markers and pastels. I edited the car in photoshop afterward for the highlight (because I didn't have any white gouache which I will go buy tomorrow) and for more smoothness.

If there's anything I could change please tell me and any tips or comments would be really appreciated Thanks

the color is great, but perspective is off. Overall a very nice drawing.

Exactly what G-man sais. The rendering is really great but work on the pespective. Good job!

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago

thanks guys. why is the perspective off, could you tell me what's wrong with it?
Anyway, I really didn't like the wheel so I traced over a real one (after rescaling it) to get the right shape (I know I cheated lol) and I change the lines behind the rear windshield because they where a bit off (maybe that was the problem?):

So what do you think? Is there anything I could still change?

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago

Nice rendering! I think what g-man means w/ the perspective is that the bottom edge of the side window dips down too low making the side of the car seem to droop a bit. I love the color though!

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago

thanks alex, I love your drawings . So raising it up a little bit would make it look better?

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago

I'm not the best person to ask for perspective tips, but here's what I'm seeing that might be causing problems:

the blue lines aren't leading to the same vanishing point. The turquoise line I drew shows what I was saying about the bottom edge of the window (should be higher)

I know it's too late to make changes now, but just for future reference

Alex

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago

Nice rendering Norm.
Since you are using Photoshop go ahead and clean up the background too.
You may be able to fix the perspective issues that Alex pointed out by using the "skew" transform command.

I like the hotspot (sun) you might want to decrease the star shoots and add more hotspots in various locations.

Overall man you did a great job for just starting out w/ markers/pastels.

Hold it infront of a mirror to see your perspective issues, be prepared to be horrified! A few pro's have told me to do this technique before i start to spent a long time on a render.

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago

Yes that is a good way of seeing it from another angle. If you are still unsure of perspective/or anything else, put it aside for 3-4 days against the wall so you cannot see it. More often than not, when you look at it again after time any mistakes become obvious! Being over familiar with a work can make you blind to any inaccuracies.

Yeah indeed. I also noticed that, already when i woke up and looked at a drawing from last night.

Perspective was the wrong word i think, i guess G-Man and me more talked about proportions. the shoulder line which alex drew in is much higher on this Lambo as far as i know.
