Re: throttle body spacer

Companies like MAP Engineering may still make a TB spacer kit to fit your L36 Series II 3800 but a lot of the on-line stores discontinued the product so it will be hard to come by. The reason is it really doesn't do much for a normally aspirated Series II 3800. For the L67 models with supercharger it helps isolate the throttle body from the supercharger heat to help reduce knock retard (KR). I never heard of one giving a nice sound by itself unless installed in conjunction with a CAI/FWI intake. Also, the TB spacer blocks off the coolant passages from the upper intake manifold (UIM) so the throttle body is not heated by the cooling system which may improve performance but at the risk of emissions and cold weather driveability.

Re: throttle body spacer

I dont know of anyone that makes one right off hand, but you could essentially get the same effect with some JB Weld and a Dremel, just fill in the coolant ports and then cut it down smooth and flush...granted I have not actually done this, just heard of it being done.
