squeeky brakes..again

A while back i couldnt get my brakes to stop squeeking while braking...so i got new rotors...that didnt help...so i went out and bought some ceramic brake pads from morse and they seemed to work for about a month or 2 and now theyre squeeking again...i replaced caliper pins and bushings also...what are some ideas as to why my brakes are squeeking...it ususally is the front right...but i think i heard my front left just today...ideas?

Re: squeeky brakes..again

Have you tried the anti-squeel schmutz from a parts store? I've never used it, so I don't know if it works or how well, but I'm gonna try it as soon as I get all my major work done.

Re: squeeky brakes..again

Are there wear indicators that are set improperly?

On the pad, is there a groove running down the middle that separates the wearing surface into two areas? If so, is there an accumulation of dirt, stones, debris in there? I had brakes on a different car that made almost like a grinding noise once this groove filled with dirt.

Re: squeeky brakes..again

How are the metal shims in the brakets that the pads slide on - clean all rust etc from the bracket before installing the shim and then make sure the pads are loose enough and not jammed/locking in the bracket - if they are jamming and not free they will always rub and make noise - happens alot in salt use areas and 4wd from lots of dirt/mud getting in there. This is a 95 so rear drums - done them too lately?

Re: squeeky brakes..again

When you apply anti-squeall, you need to apply it to the back of the pads not the pins...
