Ford Focus

Are Ford Focus' hard to work on? I was thinking of buying one for my daughter but I don't know if I can work on them....

Compared to what? I think some items are easy to fix and maintain; however, I would say the alternator is a nightmare to replace if you have to do it. Normal Maintenance is easy for a do-it-yourself.

it also depends on the year... DO NOT but an early model, for suspension wear reasons ( b joints and t ends go bad fast) general maintainance isnt hard. but how far do you plan on going? a good question is what is it you plan on working on. brakes are easy, if i recall its independant suspension so you do anything with that it will need an alignment. granted yes it isnt an old car where you can sit in the fenders and work, and there are sensors everywhere, but most problems can found care of a code check at your friendly auto place (napa, Advance, and some local shops often do it for free)
