Bill Elliott to drive for Michael Waltrip Racing

I got a bag from Burger King that says Awesome Bill is going to drive a car for Michael Waltrip in 6 races this year, starting this weekend.

Yep, that's BURGER KING, not McDonald's, who he drove for in the 90's.

Look for the 00 Dodge this weekend, at Indy, Homestead, and 3 other races.

Re: Bill Elliott to drive for Michael Waltrip Racing

I just checked with Jayski and Joe Shear is penciled in to be the crew chief for the Burger King 00 car next year.

Joe is a legend around here, the Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty combined of our local track in Rockford, Illinois. He retired from driving some years ago, though. Now Ricky Bilderback seems to be the top guy, but I haven't been there in about 16 months.

Man, if Awesome Bill signs on for a full season, my favorite driver will drive for my second-favorite driver, with my favorite local guy on the pit box.

All the while Burger Kings in my area run a 2 Whoppers for $3 promotion.

If it happens like that (and the 2 for 3 continues) I'm going to practically live on Whoppers for the 2007 NASCAR season. And then die of a heart attack before Daytona 2008, but I'll die happy if Bill can get into victory lane!
